Anacharsis was a Scythian philosopher who lived in the 6th century BCE. He traveled throughout his homeland and Greece, eventually making it to Athens around 589 BCE. Anacharsis was said to have written many things, but none of them have survived. He was said to have written a book comparing the laws of the Scythians to those of the Greeks as well as a book on the art of war. Upon his return to Scythia, he was executed for his "Greek ways" by his own brother.
